Overview of DiSC®: Understanding People’s Behaviors and its Implications on Group Effectiveness

 PURPOSE:

Provide an overview of the DiSC® Model, its styles and how it can be used to enhance individual awareness, peer and group interactions, as well as a tool to understand a group’s behavioral culture.  This will be accomplished through awareness of the awareness, experiential and possibilities of the DiSC® Model.

 OBJECTIVES:

  1. Understand the DiSC® model and its implications.
  2. Personally experience the power of the DiSC® Model.
  3. Awareness of the potential applications and possibilities of the DiSC® Model for enhanced individual, team and organizational effectiveness.

OVERVIEW:

The participants will understand their own behavioral strengths.  They will become aware of how they can work more effectively with each other to become a high performing team.    This critical tool unlocks the door to productive communication, positive relationships and increases effectiveness among diverse teams. The team profile will be used as a catalyst for discussion and understanding among the team members. Specifically, the DiSC® tool helps people explore behavior across four primary dimensions:

  • Dominance
  • Influence
  • Steadiness
  • Conscientiousness
